  • Large googly eyes

  • Paintbrushes

  • Scissors

  • Glue

You can follow along with our step by step video:

Directions on how to make a Paper Plate Lion:

Step 1.

Paint the entire paper plate yellow.

Step 2.

Paint a brown ring around the outside of the paper plate leaving the inner  portion of the paper plate yellow.

Step 3.

Draw a heart shape on your pink construction paper and cut it out. This will make the lion’s nose.

Step 4.

Glue the nose on.

Step 5.

Use a pencil to sketch out the mouth of the lion. Once you are happy with its mouth go over the lines with a thin paint brush and black paint.

Step 6.

Glue on the two googly eyes.

Step 7.

When all of the paint is dry, snip the brown ring with scissors. Ruffle and bend the edges to create a 3D effect for the lion’s mane.

And that’s it! Isn’t your finished lion craft cute?

This project is not only a fantastic way to stimulate creativity but also an excellent opportunity for family bonding or a classroom activity.
